Institutional Research Data Repository of the University of Warsaw with CoreTrustSeal Certification
Treść komunikatu
The institutional research data repository of the University of Warsaw, Dane Badawcze UW, managed by the Interdisciplinary Centre for Mathematical and Computational Modelling (ICM UW), has been awarded the CoreTrustSeal certification. The status of a Trustworthy Digital Repository is granted to services that successfully complete an evaluation process coordinated by the CoreTrustSeal Standards and Certification Board.
CoreTrustSeal is an international non-governmental organization that promotes reliable research data infrastructures. The certification assesses a repository’s compliance with 16 requirements, including security standards and service interoperability.
Obtaining the CoreTrustSeal certificate marks a significant step in the development of the University of Warsaw’s research infrastructure and supports researchers across all academic disciplines. Users gain confirmation of the platform’s high quality and alignment with international standards, including the requirements of national and international research funding agencies.
UW Open Science Policy
The Dane Badawcze UW service is one of two institutional repositories at the University of Warsaw. Alongside the scientific publications repository managed by the University of Warsaw Library, it forms a key part of the infrastructure supporting the implementation of the UW Open Science Policy.
Since February 1, 2026, scientific publications authored by individuals affiliated with UW are submitted to the UW Institutional Repository, whereas research data should be deposited in the Dane Badawcze UW repository or a selected trusted domain-specific repository.
The Dane Badawcze UW repository is accessible to the University of Warsaw community, with the ICM team offering user support for data sharing and management throughout the entire data lifecycle [See: info.danebadawcze.uw.edu.pl]. The development of the repository is part of ICM’s broader efforts toward open science, responsible research data management, and building an infrastructure compliant with European standards.
The CoreTrustSeal certificate confirms that the Dane Badawcze UW platform meets the international quality standards required of trusted repositories. Earlier, in May 2025, this certification was also awarded to the nationwide Open Data Repository (RepOD), which is also operated by ICM.
