EuroCC
The EuroCC (National Competence Centres in the framework of EuroHPC) project supports EuroHPC—a Joint Undertaking (EuroHPC JU) between 33 European countries and the European Commission. The core mission of this initiative is to enhance and standardize High-Performance Computing (HPC) capabilities across Europe, serving the needs of academia, industry, and public administration.
To achieve this, a comprehensive HPC ecosystem is being established. This ecosystem comprises two main pillars: a world-class exascale computing infrastructure on one side, and a robust support system driving specialized knowledge, skills, and expertise on the other.
The overarching goal of the EuroCC project is to establish National Competence Centres (NCCs) in each participating nation. Through these NCCs, researchers, entrepreneurs, and public officials can access not only the local computational resources and expertise of their domestic HPC hubs, but also leverage cross-border capabilities and specialist skills from across all of Europe.
ICM is a consortium partner in NCC Poland, which brings together the following national High-Performance Computing (HPC) centers:
- CI TASK – Centre of Informatics Tricity Academic Supercomputer and networK (Gdańsk)
- PCSS – Poznan Supercomputing and Networking Center (Poznań)
- ICM – Interdisciplinary Centre for Mathematical and Computational Modelling, University of Warsaw (Warsaw)
- NCBJ – National Centre for Nuclear Research (Otwock)
- WCSS – Wrocław Centre for Networking and Supercomputing (Wrocław)
- Cyfronet – Academic Computer Centre Cyfronet AGH (Kraków)
Access Guidelines
Through this project, we are breaking down barriers to High-Performance Computing (HPC) services. Within designated limits, our initial pilot services are available free of charge—not only to academic researchers but also to commercial enterprises and public administration entities.
