These EU countries crushed coronavirus in the spring. Can they do it again?

Eastern and Southern European countries must now walk a tightrope to hold on to earlier victories. One of the more surprising lessons of the pandemic was that many of Europe’s poorer countries and regions in the east and south handled the initial wave far better than their wealthier neighbors, thanks in part to a mix of luck and timely government action.
